Miss Havisham
A steampunk bride with a twist. Miss Havisham was the project that started the Singing Seamstress and confirmed my love with all things Steampunk. My inspiration was a woman lost in time, a beautiful young woman trapped in a decaying world outside of her mind. This project was the focus of my studies in the final year of my degree and the piece I exhibited when I graduated. Modelled by Fleur De Bray, a friend, opera singer and model, who became my muse for Miss Havisham.
Miss Havisham's costume has subsequently been to trade shows, wedding fairs and worn in Sherlock Holmes and the Stolen Emerald. I designed, made, hand dyed, styled and photographed Miss Havisham.
