Youth Theatre
Theatre productions with Schools and Youth Theatre groups in Wiltshire and Somerset. These productions are challenging, fast paced and evolve very quickly. They have huge casts, small budgets and often require a lot of mentoring, encouragement and participation in the production and rehearsals! It's long hours, but hugely rewarding to see young people feel a sense of accomplishment and enjoy performing.

Phantom of the Opera (2012)
"Warminster School is proud to announce that we have been awarded the performing rights to the world’s most famous musical – The Phantom of the Opera."
Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s masterpiece of musical theatre recently celebrated its 25th anniversary and as part of the celebrations, Lord Lloyd-Webber released the performing rights for the show to selected schools. Warminster School was one of the first schools in the South West stage it. The show featured 40 pupils from Years 10 to 13 and a large professional live orchestra.
Far beneath the majesty and splendour of the Paris Opera House, hides the Phantom in a shadowy existence. Shamed by his physical appearance and feared by all, the love he holds for his beautiful protégé Christine Daaé is so strong that even her heart cannot resist. In a show filled with the sights and sounds of a busy Opera House, audiences are treated to crashing chandeliers, floating boats and some of the most memorable melodies ever written for the stage.
The Phantom of the Opera has been produced in 145 cities, in 27 countries around the world, has been seen by more than 130 million people, and the total worldwide gross is now in excess of $5.6 billion.

The Mikado (2012)
The Mikado; or, The Town of Titipu is a comic opera in two acts, with music by Arthur Sullivan and libretto by W. S. Gilbert, their ninth of fourteen operatic collaborations. It opened on March 14, 1885, in London, where it ran at the Savoy Theatre for 672 performances, which was the second longest run for any work of musical theatre and one of the longest runs of any theatre piece up to that time. Before the end of 1885, it was estimated that, in Europe and America, at least 150 companies were producing the opera. The Mikado remains the most frequently performed Savoy Opera, and it is especially popular with amateur and school productions. The work has been translated into numerous languages and is one of the most frequently played musical theatre pieces in history.
This production of the Mikado was one of three modules I took in my final year at Wimbledon. It was a collaborative module where the student collaborates with a director, choreographer or producer and creates either a performance or speculative design for a performance. I collaborated with Brian Martineau who was Director and Musical Director of the show. I designed and made the costumes for The Mikado, Yum-Yum and Katisha. I also designed the show, supervised the wardrobe, painted the set and made props.

Spring Awakening (2010)
Spring Awakening is a rock musical adaptation of the controversial 1892 German play of the same title by Frank Wedekind. It features music by Duncan Sheik and a book and lyrics by Steven Sater. Set in late-19th century Germany, it concerns teenagers who are discovering the inner and outer tumult of sexuality. The original play was banned in Germany for some time due to its frank portrayal of abortion, homosexuality, rape, child abuse and suicide. In the musical, alternative rock is employed as part of the folk-infused rock score. Spring Awakening received eleven 2007 Tony Award nominations, winning eight, including Tonys for best musical, direction, book, score and featured actor. The show also won four Drama Desk Awards, while its London production won four Olivier Awards.
